but my life hasnt been conducive to speaking in coherent sentences for quite some time.
Years to be honest.
Trying to make ends meet as a single mom here in Tahoe while storing up what will hopefully be enough wood to keep my decrepit house livable has taken up most of my time over the last few months...
then there has been the usual Murphy has to hate me shit that potters have to deal with.
Like the untimely demise of my wheel and a kiln that wont work.
Saying that the wheels death is untimely is a seasonal thing ...like why now and not in say January ? The poor thing has gone above and beyond its duty.
My buddies at Brown Millberry in Reno were able to resurrect it for the second, and last time as it seems that the motor is a custom made and there are no parts to fix the old girl anymore...
obsolete.
A blessing in disguise since the thing is REALLY LOUD.
Thanks to my friends at Big Ceramic Store.com I was able to get a new Thomas Stewart wheel that arrived a few days ago...what a sweet ride this is....smooth and silent ....truly dreamy !
And the kiln will just take a bit of time...hopefully I can knock that out this week.
The weather looks like it will cooperate in that sense...no huge amount of snow to push around like a few weeks ago!
